Community Concert Series Presents Rudolf Budginas

RudolfBudginasMusical Prodigy, Rudolf Budginas, debuted with the Lithuanian National Symphony at age nine, trained at the Moscow Conservatory and promptly rose to international fame performing solo concerts.

Rudolf will be performing as part of the Live On Stage! Community Concert Series on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 7:00 pm.

The concert series is held at the Midland High School Auditorium.

Tickets for the event are $30 and may be purchased at the door.

1st Annual “Dammit Bobby” Chili Cookoff

Benefiting the West Texas Food Bank, The Hemingway will be hosting this 1st annual event this Sunday, November 8th.

Kick-off at noon, Judging at 5 PM. Entries can be purchased at The Hemingway. $75 entry fee. Live Music.

Held in parking lot of The Hemingway located in Oak Ridge Square on the corner of Wadley and Garfield.

Stryper in Concert on 25th Anniversary Tour

Christian metal band, Stryper, will be in concert at Dos Amigos (Odessa) this Saturday, Nov 7th.  Concert at 8 PM.  All ages show.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.dosamigoscantina.com.

VIP Sound Check Meet-n-Greet tickets can be purchased for $38.25.  Each market is limited to 50 passes.  Passes can be purchased up to 48 hours prior to the show and ONLY at www.styper.com.  Purchasers must have already purchased a concert ticket.  Here’s what this pass gets you:

* (1) Official Sound Check Meet-n-Greet Pass.
* Admission into sound check where you watch first hand as the band and crew work on sound mixes, songs, and set up for the evening’s show. (In the past, sound checks have always been exclusively private)
* Meet-And-Greet time with the band after sound check. Get your picture taken with the band, using your own camera.
* (1) Murder By Pride CD
* After the sound check you will be able to take photographs, talk with the band, and get autographs in a “hang out” type environment.
* Opportunity to bring (1) other Stryper item from home to have autographed, in addition to the Murder by Pride CD you will receive.

Showcase Opportunity for Local Musicians

This Saturday, October 31st, Midland Downtown Farmer’s Market will be hosting a showcase of local music as part of its 2-year birthday celebration.  This presents an opportunity for local musicians to showcase their original music and network with other musicians.  Showcase will begin at 9 AM and end at noon.  The Market, which also opens at 9 AM will remain open until 1 PM.

Musicians from Midland, Odessa and the surrounding area encouraged to attend.  All styles of music are welcome, such as singer/songwriters, guitar pickers, axe grinders, vocalists, harmonica players, etc.  All ages of performers are also welcome.

The showcase is being coordinated by local promotions company, Promising Projects.  Please email bookings@promisingprojects.com to reserve a spot.  All advance registrants will have the opportunity to showcase two songs. Walk-up’s are also welcome, however not necessarily guaranteed a spot.

Tom Braxton to Debut Endless Highway

Endless HighwayPacific Coast Jazz Recording Artist, Tom Braxton, will present the concert debut of his new CD, Endless Highway, on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Midland College.

The performance, hosted by Midland African American Roots Historical Cultural Arts Council, will be held in the Wagner Brown Auditorium of the Allison Fine Arts Building on the campus of Midland College beginning at 8 pm.

Presale tickets are available at BeDazzle, Super Mercado, LeDeboNa, Sam’s Bar-B-Que and Blessed Indulgence. Prices are $25 for Reserved Seating, $20 for General Admission and $15 for Student’s with a Fall 2009 Student ID.

Endless Highway was released nationwide on Tuesday, October 6th and will be available for purchase following the concert.

Buckshots Breast Cancer Benefit

Gather up your lawn chairs and ice down your beer for a night full of fun, fundraising and music at Buckshots on Saturday, August 29, 2009 beginning at 6 pm.

Local musicians scheduled to perform include Black Eye Shiner, Twisted Pistols, Treetop Fliers and Cory Yeager.

This is a BYOB event and the cost of admission is $15 at the gate.

Buckshots is located at 2600 FM 307 (Cloverdale Road) in Midland.

Midland-Odessa Symphony & Chorale’s Lone Star BBQ

The Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale will be hosting it’s Lone Star BBQ on September 3, 2009 at The Willows, beginning at 7 pm.

This casual event will feature a BBQ dinner, beer & wine, silent auction, and live music by instrumental ensembles of the Symphony & Chorale.
