This Saturday, October 31st, Midland Downtown Farmer’s Market will be hosting a showcase of local music as part of its 2-year birthday celebration. This presents an opportunity for local musicians to showcase their original music and network with other musicians. Showcase will begin at 9 AM and end at noon. The Market, which also opens at 9 AM will remain open until 1 PM.
Musicians from Midland, Odessa and the surrounding area encouraged to attend. All styles of music are welcome, such as singer/songwriters, guitar pickers, axe grinders, vocalists, harmonica players, etc. All ages of performers are also welcome.
The showcase is being coordinated by local promotions company, Promising Projects. Please email bookings@promisingprojects.com to reserve a spot. All advance registrants will have the opportunity to showcase two songs. Walk-up’s are also welcome, however not necessarily guaranteed a spot.
The Wi-Fi Cafe, on the campus of Odessa College, hosts a poetry slam on the third Thursday of every month.
Pacific Coast Jazz Recording Artist, Tom Braxton, will present the concert debut of his new CD, Endless Highway, on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Midland College.
